How does a protrait come about?
If you decide to have a portrait made then generally the following happens.
You are invited into the studio where the size, technique and the price will be discussed with you.
Cora starts with making some sketches and several photographs. This will take two up to three hours. Then she makes a first set-up of the portrait on canvas. During the next session of two up to three hours posing, the composition will be painted in.
Afterwards she certainly will need another session with you for finishing the portrait.
In manufacturing a portrait resemblance is important. But for a striking portrait other elements also other important, like use of colour and possible additives in the context.

In the workshop
Because children cannot pose this long, Cora has a different approach with children’s portraits. In most of cases she uses more photographs then and tries to keep posing as short as possible.
